Posted 4/15/2024 - Board of Elections Deputy Director (Democratic)
The Hocking County Board of Elections is seeking a qualified candidate for the Deputy Director (Democratic) position. The Director and Deputy Director are responsible for overseeing, directing, and managing staff and operations within the board of elections; conducting fair and impartial elections; and following all rules and regulations established by the Ohio Revised Code, relevant Federal Legislation, Ohio Secretary of State, and the Hocking County Board of Elections.
This is a salaried 40+ hours weekly position. Hours of operation will vary during election cycles including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be adaptable and must be able to perform in a stressful environment, emergency situations and extensive work hours.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency. College level education is desired, but not required. Applicants must possess a baseline understanding of the rules, processes, procedures, and equipment used in local election administration. In addition, applicants must demonstrate the requisite experience and capability necessary to manage the day-to-day operations of the Hocking County Board of Elections.
