Security in public buildings, especially government offices, is an unfortunate necessity of our times.
- No one may bring a weapon of any type into the courthouse.
- People entering the courthouse must pass through metal detectors and all purses, briefcases, packages, and other items will be screened by an x-ray machine.
- Items such as chemical mace, pepper spray, scissors, pocket knives, box cutters, knitting needles and nail files are also prohibited.
- Prohibited items that are not illegal to possess will be retained at the screening area. The item will be returned to you when you leave the building.
