Hocking County Commissioners Announce Pay Increases for EMS

Logan, OH – May 1, 2025 – The Hocking County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce market rate pay adjustments for employees of the Hocking County Emergency Medical Service (EMS). This decision underscores the Commissioners’ commitment to offering competitive compensation to attract and retain highly skilled professionals dedicated to providing life-saving medical care to Hocking County residents and visitors.

Following a thorough analysis of regional salary trends and in keeping with the County’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, the Board has approved targeted salary increases for EMS personnel. These adjustments recognize the vital role the EMS staff play in delivering rapid, high-quality emergency medical care, responding to critical situations, and supporting the health and safety of the community.

“Our EMS team is on the front lines every day, saving lives and providing compassionate care under challenging circumstances,” said Commissioner Michael Linton, who, along with EMS Chief Robert Platz and Hocking County Auditor Chris Robers, spearheaded the initiative. “These salary adjustments reflect our gratitude for their unwavering service and ensure we can continue to recruit and retain the best professionals to serve our residents.”

The salary adjustments will take effect Sunday May 4, 2025. The EMS increases are part of the Commissioner’s top priorities for the Hocking County Commissioners, along with adjustments for the Hocking County Sheriff’s office, which was approved earlier this year. The Board remains dedicated to ensuring Hocking County residents have access to exceptional first responder services.
